The general cargo ship Mikurazan Maru collided with breakwater at Tadaira in Hirado island, Japan. The vessel was maneuvering to enter the port, but stuck into the breakwater after technical malfunction. The ship suffered breaches and water ingress, but without immediate danger from sinking or capsizing. The local authorities were informed about the accident. The vessel was ordered to anchor off Hirado, where the breach to be repaired and freighter to be inspected. The root cause and exact circumstances around the collision are unclear and under investigation.
Fortunately there were were no reported injuries and water pollution.
